One special part of a wedding is the photgrapher

Monday, October 12th, 2009

One big part of someone’s life is his or her wedding day.  Usually it is made out to be the bride’s special day.  Although it is, don’t forget it is special to the groom as well.  There are all kinds of things that make that day special. One part of a wedding that is not always given attention to is the photographer.

Their part in making that day memorable is a huge one.  I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.Because the main job of a photographer is to capture that event. Those moments should be taken and captured in a photograph. The photos would be the way to remember the events that happened on that fateful day. And only a photograph can capture those memorable events.

What other things can a photographer contribute?  They contribute to turning that wedding day into a story.  A well thought out photo shoot can make a wedding album come alive.Beautifully timed photographs would make a photo album like a beautiful story of two loving persons.Shots that are taken or captured well should be able to tell the events to a person who wasn’t able to attend the wedding just by looking at the pictures.  So with that in mind you need a San Diego photographer who can really accomplish that type of job.But you must also decide if that is what you really want. All of us can just use our cameras then point and click. But you want an artistic photographer that would give you pictures that everyone you would show it with would enjoy it.

A final thing a photographer can do is make it an event.  In my photography practice my work is called event photography, because all occassions should be captured as an event, and a good event photography San Diego service should be able to do that. Not just shots that plainly taken.  But shots that make it seem bigger than life.

Hopefully you would realize the important role of a good photographer during that special day.  Pick a good one who can contribute to that special day.Someone who can make it seem like the events that happened are those events that only happen in a happy ending story. Because when you look back at it, that day should be.

How to Choose a Professional Videographer

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Lots of people choose a professional videographer for recording the essential moments of special events both in the form of pictures and digitally on CDs and DVDs. Why go professional and not amateurish? First of all because of the quality of the service, and secondly, because it is much more comfortable to be free of any worries concerning the pictures or the videos.

In case you are going to choose something other than a professional videographer, then make sure the friend you are going to rely on has some experience with manipulating the video camera and has a bit of skill in anticipating the moments of great importance during that day. A professional videographer would know what moments to hunt for, what to capture from among the multitude of small, apparently insignificant events and incidents; so, in case you have asked a friend to film the entire event, make sure he/she gets a little bit of documentation on how to best use the camera for a great outcome. You would surely not want to regret having chosen someone less experienced for such an important job.

If you choose to hire a professional videographer, however, many advantages will come with this decision. The competence level is definitely superior to any well-intended friend. The choices in terms of professionalism also vary. You have the option to go for a professional videographer who uses semi-professional equipment and that would cost a few hundred dollars. In case you are more sophisticated and demanding, you can hire the professional videographer with all the fully professional broadcasting equipment and even the entire crew to make it all as professional as possible and have the event recorded with several cameras. Of course, the latter option will cost not several hundred but several thousand dollars matching the quality and standards you opt for.

It is also important that you check the previous experience level of the professional videographer you intend to hire, to be satisfied with the work style and quality. If the style is too serious or on the contrary the special effects seem too simple and tend to affect the quality of the video, then, you are not talking to the right person, and you ought to keep searching until you find a professional videographer to be content with. Don’t be tempted only by the cheap price practiced by some service providers, because what comes cheap is cheap most of the time.

Digital Photography Portfolio Top Photography Portfolio Tips To Buld Ons

However, it also has many a nooks the users of the digital camera must be conscious of and also must be well educated to deal with to produce good pictures worth the most valued digicam for the best Photography Portfolio Tips

To appreciate what this red eye actually is, a little detailed introspection is mandatory.

Fundamentally discussion red-eye is a upshot of by smallest amount three things, they are at the outset, ambient level of light since stumpy light level causes the retina of the person to be snapped to commence wider to confess more light so instructive commence the iris, which is the initially part with the intention of reflects the red light hence giving the advent of red eyes pro the subjects. Also second the more younger the person being shot the a wider area remains the retina and therefore the huger the effects of red eye in the picture. Thirdly, the reflection aim of the flare acting a crucial role, as the light is recoiled back to the electronic camera and the closer the event light beam is to this reflected light beam, the superior becomes the red eye effect. To bar this instruments like flare brackets are advantageous to promote to the flare a small piece unconcerned from the propinquity of the lens. So the red eye effect is more exactly disclosed until this part of this dialogue. Top stop these kinds of instruments like flash brackets because they make the flash a bit more removed from the placement of the lens. So the red eye effect is rather disclosed until this part of this dialogue which will improve your Photography Portfolio Tips

Now’s the time to look into a finer detail in order to investigate the varied sides of the red eye effect and also find out techniques of reducing the difficulty so far as possible. It can be observed here the only crucial thing is the users must make sure that the correct fixing of the angle between the flash beam and the lens axis. The main rule here is the paparizzi has to keep a very wide angle enoght for a light to beam from a flash really does not reflect off of the retina of a persona being shot and then comes back into the camera's lens.

A great idea is to make the red-eye reduction work by making the flash shine a light into the eyes of the person being snapped just before the flash is situation and the shutter is pressed. This is make the irises in the eyes of the person being shot to be very small or shrink. As a consequence of this the eye develops a smaller opening for the eye view of the digicam and does not show off the blood filled retina. A vitial importantance this process only works if the person to be shot is in a direct point on the subject looking directly into the flash from the pre-light that's coming in. Other considerations influencing the red eye are the level of ambient light during the time when the picture is being taken and how close to the flash light is to the lens. The tenet will come out much brighter with the ambient light: and lesser if the red eyes, being one and the same. As the flashlight goes further from the lens, the less becomes the consequences of red eyes, the rest being one and the same again. So the main idea key is that red isn't caused if the ambient light is very overpowering.

This does have a great effect on shooting a big area in the dark.

Many digital cameras have in-built features for anti red eye that is used to reduce red eye when taking an image of an individual looking straight at the camera also. For the maxium results the best red eye reduction is still with an external flash as display here.

Wedding Day Photographer Planning

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

When most brides and grooms make wedding day plans, they take certain things into consideration. They think about vacation times when trying to coordinate. Or they plan the day according to the best time for family to come into town.  Or they plan it based upon maybe available venues, like the church or the restaurant.

But one of the biggest things they fail to plan for on the wedding day is the photographer. Don’t think this is something small.  And I am not just saying it because I am a wedding photographer

No planning the wedding day with the wedding photographer in mind could mean all the difference in the world. Especially when you think about the fact the photos are going to be the thing that captures that day for a lifetime.

So what are the key factors to consider when planning with the photographer in mind. The date and time.

Let’s start with the time.  How many people do you think would want their photographer to rush taking the photos? I am pretty confident most couples will not agree to that.

Without even considering your photographer, a majority of the times most couples do just that. The couple or family basically rush the photographer to try and take all the pictures.

How so you ask? Well let’s say, the couple makes the ceremony between 1-2 pm. With the reception beginning at 2:30. How many shots can a photographer make when he only has a half hour to work with?  Not many.

Worse yet, what if he does get all the shots? Do you think they are going to take good quality shots when they are rushed?  Of course not.

So plan the wedding times and the receptions accordingly making sure there is ample time to take photos.

The second factor to consider when planning is to check your photographer’s availability.

Most probably don’t realize this, but most good photographers will be booked months in advance. Let’s say you are dealing with a large photography company, they probably have a few photographers.

Well making wedding plans without thinking about the availability of the photographer could be a nightmare. Because when you reserve that special day, without making sure your photographer is available, come wedding day you might get a shock when you find somebody totally different.

This scenario happens when you are dealing with a big company. You may not even realize that they have a staff of photographers and if the photographer you liked is booked, unless you ask, they might not tell you.  When your wedding day comes, they might just outsource their work or a second rate photographer might show up.

Be prepared that you don’t let something like this happen.Making plans for your wedding day is special. Be sure that you also plan it thinking about your wedding photographer.

Improve Your Photography with these Lighting Tips

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

In this current time period of digital cameras, you probably think all you need to do is point and click to take great photos.Hold on, don’t go so fast.  The truth is you can have the top of the line digital camera, but if you don’t know what you are doing, you will take lousy shots.

I would love to give you some good tips to help you improve your photography skills.  These tips are coming from years of experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. These tips are all about the lighting and they will some of biggest reasons for you success in taking photographs.

First tip you will use in regards to lighting. Now if the shots you will take are going to be outdoors during the day, the natural sunlight will be some of the best lighting possible.  Now you are probably thinking, “that’s easy, when you are a San Diego photographer since it is always shiny there”, when in actuality really bright sunlight can cast harsh shadows.  Or it can wash out the details in faces if the sun is overhead.

Overall, you are going to want to take most of the shots with the sun behind you. This stops any harsh shadows in your photo caused by the sun.But there will be those times and instances when you want different angles to get those shadows into the shots.

Now that we know what to do during the day shots, what if you have to take some night shots?

The key technique for night photos is actually turning off your flash. Now if it is pictch black, of course you will need it, but if there are some lighting, use it, but make sure the shutter speeds are slower to let the light in.Also, stay steady when you are taking your photograph or you will cause the picture to blur.Applying these couple of techniques will make a dramatic difference for those nights shots you take.

The final tips to using lighting for great shots is using the golden hour. Now there is a time that photographers refer to as the “golden hour” or “magic hour”, and that is during sunrise and sunset.

It is during this time of day when you will capture great shots that capture more warmer colors.  You will be able to capture that golden lighting you won’t catch any other time of day.

There you have it.Probably the biggest secret in taking great photographs is taking advantage of the natural lighting.  Knowing what techniques to use for different parts of the day, or just scheduling a photo shoots to capture those times of day will help you become an excellent photographer.

Nowadays, people prefer color pictures because they are colorful and more affordable. Black and white photography has been somewhat forgotten, but a few people have found that it is great for portraits and close-up photos. Black and white photos are also perfect for portraits and candid shots of young children. If you want of make your black and white photos to be more striking, you can frame them in groups in your wall.

It’s basically the forerunner of pictograph dimension of photo shooting. This photography concentrates sticking in important life aspects beyond the radical changes of artistic movement in the industrial age. Naturalist photography has played a major role in the society where self-consciousness and regard had diminished.

The photographers that keep their camera handy are the ones that will catch the perfect shot. But I considered my digital photography options and figured this was the best camera for me at the time. I considered getting a Canon or Nikon, but wasn’t ready to spend $600 or more for my first camera, heck i wasn’t even sure I would be good at it. You have to be prepared to catch that perfect moment because it can come and go in a heart beat. Any thing smaller may not have the support features that are needed for this type of photography.

It’s a household name and basically speaks for itself. This photography highly regarded and recognized for its quality and professionalism in the field of portrait making. Their trick is they have remained focus on certain types of photo shoots and they have blended modern technology with skills and experience to work for their own good. Some common items will include use of composite prints that consist of combined graphics and multiple pictures.

But natural landscape is not the only kind of landscape available. Many of this kinds of landscape photography have become boring because too many photographers are doing it.

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

A wedding is one of the most important events that will occur in a person’s life. Many hours goes into a lot of the planning for the wedding. Probably all of the list of things to do in wedding planning are frustrating, stressful, and time consuming. That’s why it is crucial that your homework is done when trying to find good people for all the jobs.  One of the most important jobs is that of the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.

Finding a wedding photographer is a big job. There are a few important factors to think about when you make this important decision. The photographs that you get from your wedding day will be some of the most memorable moments that you. The photos will be all over your walls for the rest of yourlife. One of the important factors when trying to find a photographer is price. Many photographers will charge a price for a certain length of time at the wedding. It is important to know up front what all is included with that
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Don’t forget, a lot of photographers will negotiate their price to fit what you need.

Another thing to take into account when deciding is how much experience does this person have. Is this their first wedding or their hundredth? Their price might be an indication of how many years they have been in business as well. Just because someone is experienced, doesn’t always translate into being a better photographer. A lot times people that are just starting out and are trying to build a reputation for themselves will turn out to be great. The advantage of a person like that and going with them is you know they are going to give it their best. In your search for a wedding photographer, you are going to find different levels of experience between them. Doing an interview with a photographer can give you a good sense of what they will be like to work with.

A final thing for you to take into account when trying to decide is the personality the photographer has. Are they likely going to try call all the shots and decide on all your poses? Or will they let the bride and groom make some of the decisions themselves? Another thing to think about is whether or not you want to be the one to make the important decisions on the photos. The bride and groom might have enough to worry about that day as it is. Take all of these factors into consideration when you choose your photographer. If you do, you are going to have a lot of wonderful pictures to cherish for the rest of your lives.  Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

Tips from a San Diego Wedding Photographer

Monday, June 1st, 2009

When you are asked to be the one to take photos of the wedding is a huge responsibility. If you are doing it as a favor, or if you are doing it as your profession, following these 5 tips will help you do the job right.

This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  So whether you are seasoned pro, or a rank amateur, if you follow these tips, you will feel comfortable and not have to second guess yourself.  You will be fully prepared for whatever may come.

Our first tip is pretty simple and that is to have the couple and their families make a list for you of shots they want to take. When you know the day will be hectic and chaotic, doing this will help you get the family and group shots later on in the day more smoothly. You will love how you can just go through your list and get all the shots you want without leaving anything out.

The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots.  In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them.Great as they are, they might tempt you to delete a shot they may like that you don’t since it is so easy to do.Don’t bother even peeking at the previews.  What makes a great shot in your mind could differ widely that what makes a great shot in the couples minds. You know what, they might like all those un “professional” shots you take.

For the the third tip, make sure you get candid shots during and after the wedding.A good wedding photographer doesn’t look to just take your typical shots, like group shots, or wedding shots or your standard newly married shots.  But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there.  And that includes some of the things that could go wrong, like a flower girl not making it all the way to the front, or the ring bearer dropping the rings.  Every shot counts.

The fourth tip is which is often overlooked is to make sure you have several cameras and other equipment as backup.  Do you even want to imagine having a camera stop working halfway through the day.  Plan for anything that could go wrong.  Being prepared will help you avoid that uncomfortable moment of not having a working camera to capture the rest of the day.

Lastly, make sure to practice for your lighting. There can be a huge difference between the lighting inside the wedding and outside, so make sure to practice for all the different possible conditions. Think about seeing if you can go to the locations of the big day and look for the best spots to take pictures as well as study the lighting needs.

Following these 5 great tips will help you greatly on that special day.  It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be.  Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

Even More Tips to Making The Best Digital Wedding Photos even Better

4 great Tips for Making Great Digital Wedding Photography even Greater

Brides and grooms everywhere are beginning to realize the expertise of professional photographers to get the best digital wedding photography images for their special occasion. And why shouldn’t they? They would abosultely want to obtain only the best photography taken so that their photographic memories would be sealed for as long as they both live.

There are numbers of people reaching out with their own personal digital cameras for their own photography needs One of the reasons for this is that the quality is better compared to the traditional and old fashioned film cameras. Another interesting fact is that the photographs can be stored not only in their hard-bound leather covered photo albums but also on website albums online.

Today, people are using their computers more than ever before for communication. With computers, they can easily upload and transfer their wedding pictures and share them with family members and close friends all over the world. You do not have to rely on slow emails just to send your pictures. They are being delivered electronically and viewed the very second you upload them to your desktop computer.

This is one of the many advantages of digital photography. If photos are taken properly, you are pretty much guaranteed that you and you special person of interest will never regret having used digital photography for your wedding pictures.

Below are some of the tips to get the best digital photography for your wedding.

1. Choosing the right backgrounds.

Photos can really look awesome once they are shot with the perfect background. You can use the florals and decorations in the church and in the reception areas as a back draft for your photos. Be sure to fix some spread out festive decorations so that they will appear mostly with perfection on photographs.

Always remind the photographer to check if the view is good before taking any pictures. It does not mean that you have to stand on the same corner or place. The best photographer is able to make even the most simple of background look great on photo if it is taken in the right place and angle.

2.  Look out for any types of glass or mirrors.

Somebody wearing glasses can tilt their nose down to refrain from glare from flash. Should it be an eye-glass, outside window or champagne glasses.  One way or another, they will cause a reflection or brightness to reflect back on the camera it is included in the photographs.

To avoid this, the tilt and position of the camera can be manipulated so that it will not directly bounce off the glass. The photo can be taken sideways or downwards but never on eye level.

3. The perfection of timing.

People being photographed should not always be looking straight into the camera. And none of the people have to be smiling at the lens too.

One way to reach your goals is to photograph the moment in a photojouranlsitic manner You will see that catching persons on film when they are in their candid state is much better than having them wearing a fixed expression. Photography can also be called photojournalistic to have a stealth approach.
4. Review each photo.

To utilize the maximimum the memory that your digital camera can handle, it is sometimes a good idea to review every photo shot taken. Over shooting the same subject at a wedding should be avoided, be more original.

It’s best to take a variety of images for a better selection.

The greatest wedding photography is made even greater now with digital cameras. This is one important value that you definitely should have on any special day.
